Tussock Caterpillar
This larva was found on Red Acacia (Acacia seyal), Machakos, Kenya. 30 May 2017.
Among the showy tufts of hairs on this caterpillar there might be stinging hairs. There are very many species of Lymantriidae in Kenya. Matching images of adult moths and larvae and their host plants would be a fascinating project!
