If a Malacologist happens upon this page, hopefully he or she will be able to put a closer name on this poor photograph of a land snail. Many land snails, but not all, are either herbivores or detritivores. When conditions are too dry the animals can close a flap called a hyperculum, and remain moist and safe inside their shell until rains come again.
