Vernonia Weevil |
||
Observed feeding on leaves of a Vernonia along the Elgeyo Escarpment, Kenya, July 2014. Specimens are close to 25 mm long. |
These very large weevils were feeding and mating on foliage of Vernonia (Asteraceae). This suggests that this might be the larval host plant. Further investigation might reveal the grubs tunneling inside the stems. Curculionidae -- Weevil FamilyMore Information: |
