Found beneath a rock in savannna habitat near Olesossos, Kenya. Dec. 2015. |
Natural habitats in the tropics are home to thousands of cockroach species - mostly very different than the few species that have taken up habitation with humans. The specimen here was found under a rock. It has a look of both a cockroach and a termite. Chances are this one feeds on cellulose rich plant detritus similar to the feeding behavior of wood roaches.
