Growing in partial shade on a rocky hillside, Eldoret, Kenya. December 2012.

This attractive flowering vine is a native to East Africa, but has been widely cultivated in warm climates around the world. It has thus also become an unwanted invasive in some habitats particularly on Pacific Islands. There are many other Thunbergia species native to Kenya, and at least one exotic, the Blue Trumpet Vine.

Acanthaceae -- Acanthus Family
