Growing from a rock crevice on a hilltop in western Kenya near Turbo. Dec 2015. |
The stems of this fern were found creeping within a narrow, shaded crevice resulting in a row of leaves emerging from the rock on a hilltop. The leaves are once pinnate and light green in color. The final divisions are pinnatifid, i.e. not divided all the way to the rachis. Dryopteridaceae -- a Fern FamilyMore Information:
