Bracelet Honey Myrtle |
Melaleuca armillaris |
|
Photographed at Naiberi River Camp, s.e. of Eldoret, Kenya. 15 October 2010. |
Many, small white flowers are born in spikes hanging on descendant twigs. As in related members of the myrtle family, much of the flower color is due to large, showy stamens. The abundant, closely packed leaves are dark green and just about linear. This tree is originally from Queensland, Australia. I found it widely planted in places from Nairobi to Eldoret.
