Observed in a sunny margin of elfin on a wooded slope subject to intense grazing pressure. Abedares National Park, Kenya, Africa. 4 June 2017.

FRUIT: Capsule.

SHRUB: A medium-sized shrub with numerous branches.

LEAVES: Linear and partly fleshy leaves distributed along reddish-brown stems.

RANGE: Several similar species range from East and South Africa.

FLOWERS: Small bilaterally symmetrical flowers are white with a reddish throat and arranged into a spike. Four or five upper lobes atop a flared tube that is split down to base.
