From Wikipedia: Duranta contains 17 species of shrubs and small trees that are native from southern Florida to Mexico and South America. They are commonly cultivated as hedges and ornamental plants.

Birds such as Common Bulbul and Speckled Mousebird are keen to feed on the orange berries containing seeds. In this way, dispersal of this plant will contribute to it becoming yet another non-native invasive in Kenya's natural environments. The widespread planting of these species should be discouraged.
