FLOWERS: The flowers are small and papery and are arranged in numerous, short, tightly-packed spikes. Th bracts and stems are silvery white due to abundant woolly hairs.

LEAVES: Alternate to opposite leaves are elliptic. The newer growth, leaves and stems, are whitish with scaly hairs.

RANGE: This plant is native to much of Africa.

SUBSHRUB: Slightly woody at base with several to many branches reaching 1.5 meters tall.

FRUIT: Small capsules with one seed in each.

UNARMED.
