LEAVES: The leaves are ovate-elliptical and thin.

HERBACEOUS: Low-growing mostly herbaceous plant less than one meter tall.

FLOWERS: Salmon or peach colored flowers are nearly actinomorphic - five mostly equal petals. The floral tube is long and slender.

RANGE: One of several species of Baleria found in Kenya.

FRUIT: Two valved capsule.

ARMED: Very sharp spines, some of which are very long and others short.
