Copper Leaf
Acalypha marginata (?)
Conspicuous foliage of Acalypha sp. observed on the grounds of a beach-type resort near Mombasa, Kenya. January 2012. The long lizard-tail spikes consist of many, small male flowers.
Species of Acalypha are showy and many are widely planted in gardens. Flowers and leaves are mixed with green and white. The plant shown here was shrubby and about one meter tall.
