Rattling Cisticola
Plain brown-gray back and breast - no streaking or rufous. Crown plain ith slight tawny color. Common in variety of open and disturbed habitats.
Winding Cisticola
Back is mostly black with lighter colored feather edges. There is a rufous (reddish-brown) in the mostly dark wings and top side of tail. Rufous on crown and nape.
Stout Cisticola
Tawny-beige with black streaks on wings and back. Rufous on head and nape. Thin beak for insectivore.
Red-faced Cisticola
Plain back and breast - no streaking. Rufous patch just behind and below eye. Long tail. Inhabits dense vegetation as in swamps.
Short-winged Cisticola
Small and very non-descript. Streaking on the back may be faint. Found near savanna woodland and edge of cultivation.

Common bird of dense undergrowth with olive wings. Broad, flat bill tapers to slender tip. Back and head gray.
